Hey y'all!

The week has come to and end, and I am swamped with homework. Darn you, BYU, for not letting us have a spring break!! Besides listening to extremely entertaining date stories from Professor Middleton, we had out mock interviews. They were so scary, but in all honesty, a HUGE benefit.

I loved being the interviewer and seeing how my partners responded. They both were professional, calm, and collected, and their resumes both were very impressive. Listening to how my partners responded gave me ideas on how I should act and think during an interview. The thing my partners did the best was selling themselves. Both of them made me want to give them the job they were interviewing for!

My interview went so-so. I was very nervous because it was the first formal job interview I had ever had. The only other one I have experienced, I had already had the job and I want basically getting an overview of the rules. Besides being wishy-washy and saying I was nervous, I think I did okay! One thing I was complemented on was my creativity with my PAR stories. I managed to make my interest of watching movies into a comparison of learning lessons from the things I watch and using them in my work experiences. If I can be less nervous, and more confident in myself, my answers, and my talents and abilities, I can nail any interview I have. I just need to be prepared.

One question that a potential might ask me in an interview is, "Why should I hire you over someone else?" My answer would be simple. "WHY WOULDN'T YOU?!"

  1. I though that the interviews were super helpful. It was also interesting to be able to experience being an interviewer. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be! Is it bad if I enjoyed asking people difficult questions in the interview?

  2. You have such a positive attitude for facing interviews. I think that confidence may be one of your greatest advantages :)
